Certegy Check Services is an alternative credit bureau that collects check writing histories and provides check screening services for retailers who accept checks as payment in their stores.

Certegy also provides risk management services for companies that accept checks, authorization processing, loss mitigation, merchant processing services for credit cards and payroll check cashing services for businesses that accept checks in their store, online, over the phone, and through the mail.

It’s important to note that Certegy reports include information on NSF history and any check/bank fraud.

Certegy’s reports can prevent you from being able to open a bank checking or savings account as well as stop you from being able to cash checks.

If you have been denied when trying to open a checking account you will want to order a free report from Certegy so that you can view the information being reported about you.

If you notice any inaccurate information in the report be sure to dispute it right away and be proactive to resolve any outstanding issues.

– Certegy will provide one free report every 12 months.
– Certegy will also provide a free report if an adverse action is taken against you based on information in your report or under other specific circumstances.

If you request your Certegy report via mail, you will need to include your name, address, date of birth, social security number, driver’s license number, as well as your bank routing and account number (if you have one).
